Holy city for the 3 main monotheistic religions, Jerusalem is striking for the enormous walls that surround the city and 7 gates leading to the four most important neighborhoods. Jerusalem, contrary to what one might think, is not reserved exclusively for religious pilgrimages. Jerusalem also hosts an annual Pride event and has gay-friendly venues, although the atmosphere is certainly quieter than in neighboring Tel Aviv.

In the Jewish quarter we will pass by the courtyards around which widowed women lived 100 years ago. They came to Jerusalem to die but ended living longer than they thought. We will also visit the Old Yishuv Court Museum. In this museum the focus is on life of women in the Jewish quarter from 1600 until 1948.
